The Plug Repair Unit is designed for easy and effective tire repair. It doesn’t require any special tools for wire pulling. Simply insert the plug into the puncture from the inside of the tire and pull the repair unit through from the outside. Both the stem and the repair unit are coated with vulcanizing gum to ensure a strong bond through the injury and on the inner liner. The black patches come with gray vulcanizing gum and can be vulcanized chemically or in a heat curing system.

INSTRUCTIONS
REPAIR PROCEDURES FOR COMBINATION REPAIR UNITS
Before starting the repair, mark and remove the object causing the puncture. Inflating the tire and applying a soap solution to the damaged area will help determine if the air loss is due to one or multiple punctures. Carefully remove the tire from the wheel to avoid further damage and place it on a spreader.PROBING
Use a probe to assess the size and direction of the injury, ensuring all foreign materials are removed. Do not attempt to repair if the injury exceeds the acceptable repair limits.INTERNAL EXAMINATION
Spread the tire beads and mark the damaged area with a crayon. Inspect the tire carefully to confirm that the damage is within repairable limits. If the damage is beyond these limits, do not proceed with the repair.REPAIR UNIT SELECTION
For injuries up to 1/4'' (6mm) in diameter and angles not exceeding 25°, a combination repair unit is the best option. Reinforced Combination Units are suitable only for the tread area, while Universal and Lead-Wire Combination Units can be used in any repairable area.CLEANING
Use a buffing solution and an inner scraper to clean the area slightly larger than the patch head. This step helps remove dirt and mold lubricants, improving adhesion.BUFFING
Buff the repair area using a buffing wheel to create a textured surface, being careful not to damage the inner liner. For lead-wire units, use the appropriate reamer or cutter to drill the injury channel from both the inside and outside, removing damaged cables and debris. Vacuum away all dust.CEMENTING
Apply vulcanizing cement to the injury channel and the prepared area. Work the cement into the rubber thoroughly, avoiding puddling or scraping. Allow the cement to dry completely before proceeding.INSERTION
Remove the backing from the patch head (and stem for lead-wire units). Avoid touching the gum surface. Push the quill or lead wire into the injury from the inside and pull it through using pliers. Continue until the patch head is firmly seated against the inner liner.FINISH REPAIR
Stitch the patch bead to the inner liner from the center outward to eliminate any trapped air. Cut the stem 1/8'' above the tread surface. Apply Inner Liner Sealer to the overbuffed area and allow it to dry.
