Archaeologists said that the silver bowl is about 13 cm in diameter and is decorated on the outside with animal motifs. It was made in northern France in the 9th century AD. Silver bowls contain 617 silver coins from Ireland, France, Russia, Afghanistan and Scandinavia. In addition, there is a full gold armband, multiple gold necklaces, brooches and some unprocessed silver pieces in the bowl.
Experts estimate that the total value of this treasure is about 1 million pounds (about 2 million U.S. dollars) and the conservative estimate is 750,000 pounds (about 1.5 million U.S. dollars).
According to British law, Weyland’s father and son can get half of their wealth, and the other half will go to the farmers in the treasure excavation office.
