 FAQ
HONYFLUO®PTFE sheet or rod (chemical name is polytetrafluoroethylene, commonly known as Teflon) is a semi-crystalline fluoroplastic with many unique properties. It has very high thermal stability and chemical resistance, as well as a high melting point (-200 to +260°C, short-term up to 300°C). In addition, PTFE products have excellent sliding properties, excellent electrical resistivity and non-stick surface. However, compared with other plastics, this material has lower mechanical strength and higher specific gravity. PTFE plastic can be modified by adding glass fiber, carbon or bronze to improve the mechanical properties of the material. Due to its structural characteristics, PTFE is usually compression molded, and then the material is machined with cutting/processing tools
Teflon Sheet Rod Feature
Very high chemical resistance
Excellent high temperature resistance
(-200+260°C, short-term up to 300°C)
Very low coefficient of friction
Very low surface tension (almost no material will stick to PTFE, it is difficult to stick or weld)
High thermal expansion coefficient
Relatively low strength/rigidity
Low dielectric constant
Flame retardant
PTFE is one of the most commonly used and most important fluorine-containing plastics and is widely used in various application fields. It is a commonly used material in sliding applications, especially in environments where components need to withstand chemical stress.

As a wear-resistant seal, it is used in turbines. In unfavorable chemical environments, seals and shields made of HONYFLUO®PTFE tubing have reliable performance and greatly improve the efficiency of turbomachinery. (Replace the previous materials: aluminum, bronze, babbitt alloy)
Because the performance and life are significantly better than other PTFE, the transmission and power steering seals processed by HONYFLUO®PTFE have been widely used by top European car manufacturers. (Replace the previous material: GF PTFE)
Fluorosint® Family
The Fluorosint® range of enhanced PTFE materials was developed to fill the performance gaps where unfilled as well as low-tech, filled PTFE-based polymers underperform. Each Fluorosint® material was specifically designed to excel in demanding bearing and seal applications. While each of Fluorosint® grade possesses the great chemical resistance and compliance of standard PTFE, each material offers unique properties resulting from our proprietary process in which we chemically link synthetically manufactured mica to virgin PTFE. These enhancements give individual Fluorosint® grades superior performance properties, ranging from outstanding dimensional stability, to improved wear performance, to higher load bearing capabilities.
Fluorosint® 135 PTFE
Polytetrafluoroethylene
Fluorosint® 135 is a PTFE material formulated to provide the lowest coefficient of friction and deformation for use in demanding seal, bearing, and washer applications. This grade also possesses excellent strength, stiffness, and high-pressure velocity capabilities. Additionally, Fluorosint® 135 PTFE exhibits high mechanical performance at elevated temperatures, making this grade ideal for wear applications where extreme conditions are present.
Material Properties
Lowest possible coefficient of friction and deformation
Excellent strength and stiffness
High pressure velocity capabilities
High mechanical performance at elevated temperatures
Fluorosint® MT-01 PTFE
Polytetrafluoroethylene
Fluorosint® MT-01 is an extreme PTFE grade that was specifically developed for engineering applications where the low-friction and high-temperature benefits of PTFE-based materials also require outstanding strength, stiffness, and stability. Often specified in seat, seal, and wear applications where extreme thermal conditions are present, Fluorosint® MT-01 PTFE delivers superior mechanical performance at elevated temperatures.
Material Properties
Excellent strength and stiffness
Excellent stability in high temperature applications
Great friction behavior typical of PTFE

Fluorosint® 500 PTFE
Polytetrafluoroethylene
Fluorosint® 500 Polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE shapes possess a unique combination of stability and wear resistance, for sealing applications where tight dimensional control is required. With nine times greater resistance to deformation under load than unfilled PTFE, Fluorosint® 500 PTFE exhibits outstanding chemical and hydrolysis resistance, and excellent mechanical and tribological properties. Additionally, Fluorosint® 500 PTFE`s coefficient of linear thermal expansion approaches the expansion rate of aluminum and is 1/4 that of virgin PTFE, which often eliminates fit and clearance problems for designers.
Material Properties
Most dimensionally stable PTFE-based product
Chemical resistance parallels PTFE
Continuous use temperatures to 500° F / 260° C
Excellent mechanical and tribological properties
Lower coefficient of thermal expansion
Fluorosint® HPV PTFE
Polytetrafluoroethylene
Fluorosint® HPV is an FDA compliant, high-performance, bearing grade PTFE material. Optimized for high-pressure velocity and low k-factor, Fluorosint® HPV was developed specifically for bearing applications where other PTFE formulations typically exhibit premature wear. Ideal for food processing and pharmaceutical applications, Fluorosint® HPV`s FDA compliance gives equipment manufacturers new design options for load-bearing and wear applications.
Material Properties
Low k-factor for excellent wear resistance
High pressure velocity material with excellent load bearing capacity
FDA compliant
Fluorosint® 207 PTFE
Polytetrafluoroethylene
Fluorosint® 207 Polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE is a Food Contact Compliant grade of Fluorosint® with a unique combination of dimensional stability and creep resistance, exceptional sliding and wear properties, and outstanding chemical and hydrolysis resistance. Possessing the lowest coefficient of friction of all Fluorosint® materials, Fluorosint® 207 PTFE shapes excel in food, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing industries, especially for aggressive service bearing and bushing applications. It is also a preferred material for lower pressure seats and seals, where virgin PTFE fails and Food Contact Compliance may be required.
