The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) recently conducted national supervision and spot checks on the quality of detergents, white latex and other products. A total of 68 products manufactured by 51 companies in 22 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions were sampled for detergent, and 65 products were qualified. The sampling qualification rate of products was 95.6%; white latex samples were collected from 51 companies in 9 provinces and municipalities directly under the Central Government. 51 kinds of products, qualified 43 kinds, product sampling pass rate of 84.3%.
The main quality problems found in spot checks of detergent powder products are that the detergency ratio does not meet the requirements of the standard and there are two products that fail. The second is that the content of free base exceeds the standard and one product fails. The main reason for the excess content of free base is that enterprises increase the detergency of washing powder by increasing the alkali content, but high free-base content will cause damage to fabrics.
In the quality inspection of white latex products, 17 large and medium-sized manufacturing companies were found to have passed all of their product quality, while a small number of small enterprises produced products with poor quality. One of the major quality issues is excessive formaldehyde. There are 7 kinds of products free formaldehyde content between 1.1g/kg ~ 1.5g/kg, higher than the national standard 1.0g/kg requirements. The second is the individual product pH, viscosity failure. Excessive pH will cause certain corrosion of the wood, and the unqualified viscosity will directly affect the initial viscosity of the product.
