US will upgrade 22 Aegis missile cruisers

The US Navy has a total of 27 "Aegis" guided missile cruisers, which are 1, 2, 3, and 4 ships. The US Navy is preparing to upgrade 22 of the Aegis missile cruisers of Types 2, 3 and 4. Specific upgrades include the upgrade of the Aegis computer to the base 7 stage 1C level, the addition of vertically launched anti-submarine rockets and the Tomahawk missile unit.
