The three contracts were signed with the leading shipyards in Korea. ABB will serve as a system integrator for telecommunications in offshore facilities, with offshore facilities mainly for the Hanstin and Kroger projects in the Norwegian North Sea and the Marina project in the UK. ABB has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications transmissions for the global oil and gas industry, and these system delivery will be completed in 2015.
Marina and Crocker are fixed steel casing platforms and their models will be built by the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Co., Ltd. (DSME) plant. Hanstin is a single-cylinder tubular platform, the first type on the Norwegian continental shelf, and its model was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries.
