"Bulge" new processing technology of plastic pipe profiled material

    Recently, a new technology of plastic extrusion and expansion molding was successfully developed by the Institute of Plastics Machinery and Plastic Engineering of Beijing University of Chemical Technology. According to Professor He Yadong of the Institute, the technology is mainly applied to the production of plastic pipes, pipe fittings, and other plastic special-shaped materials. The most important feature is to save energy consumption, change the process of melting and re-injection of commonly used plastics processing, and replace it with "secondary molding" processing technology, which is a very promising new technology for plastics processing. The Institute of Plastics Machinery and Plastics Engineering of Beijing University of Chemical Technology has carried out a large number of experimental studies and successfully produced various shapes of products. The technology has obtained national invention patent authorization and owns independent intellectual property rights. However, at present, the technology still remains at the theoretical stage and has not actually been put into production. Prof. He said that he is in contact with some processing companies in the near future and hopes to truly integrate technology research and development with industrialization.
    Looking at the current plastics processing industry, conventional plastics molding methods can process almost all kinds of plastic products, but for some products with special shapes, using existing methods may not be the most cost-effective, such as in fittings. Three links, four links, and some special-shaped products. Especially in the case of small production batches, expensive mold costs will be shared by a small amount of production, etc., so the injection molding method has certain difficulties in producing such parts, not to mention the current slenderness, large differences in end face sizes, or Expansion joints and other small parts of the abdomen can not even be processed by injection molding and general plastic molding methods.

    Compared to these commonly used molding methods, plastic extrusion and expansion molding has the following advantages:
    1. The structure of the molding equipment is relatively simple and the equipment investment is low;
    2. The processed material does not produce phase change, and the molding process can usually be performed at a lower temperature with less energy.
    3. It is suitable for the production of products with large differences in cross-sectional dimensions, and has strong cross-sectional dimensions for products;
    4, the control system is relatively simple, process control is very flexible, by controlling the extrusion stroke, using the same pair of molds, it is possible to get different sizes of products;
    5. Can make full use of the high productivity and low cost of extruded parisons;
    6, in the case of smaller production volumes, can greatly reduce production costs and so on.
