According to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China's automobile production and sales from January to November this year were 25.027 million and 24.548 million, respectively, up 14.3% and 14.1% year-on-year, and higher than the same period of the previous year by 12.5 and 10.8 percentage points. After two years of slowdown in production and sales growth, China's automobile production and sales in 2016 reached a record high.
Li Chunlei, chairman of China Energy Automotive Communications Group, said at the 2016 (Ninth) Consumer Model Festival and Automotive Brand Competitiveness Forum that the Chinese auto market is showing new features: from the perspective of macroeconomics and industry development: Accelerated consumption upgrades; Internet companies have become the norm in cross-border manufacturing; intelligent network and new energy vehicles have become global hotspots for investment and potential consumption, and new consumer trends, brand perceptions and industrial forms are taking shape.
Since the beginning of this year, China's self-owned brand car companies have been active, the collective upward trend is obvious, the overall market share has been rising, and the comprehensive strength has been substantially improved from product to technology, from quality to service, from marketing to brand. At the same time, the new energy vehicle market is booming. From January to November, China produced 427,000 new energy vehicles and sold 402,000 units, up 59% and 60.4% respectively.
Bai Ming, deputy director of the International Market Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, said at the meeting that although China has become the world's largest car sales and sales country, there is still a certain gap in the core technology of China's auto industry.
