From the Hampshire Fire Protection District:
The Hampshire FPD responded to a serious vehicle accident involving a car that crashed into a tree, causing significant damage, on Harmony Road just north of Kelley Road this afternoon (11/2/18). A single occupant was rescued from the vehicle and transported to an Elgin hospital with critical injuries. Due to the high volume of calls being handled at the time, we received assistance from the Burlington and Pingree Grove Fire Protection Districts.

Emergency crews worked quickly to stabilize the scene and ensure the safety of all involved. The driver was in critical condition but is currently receiving medical care. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, which occurred during a busy afternoon commute. Residents in the area were advised to stay alert and avoid the area until further notice.
