On the morning of September 3, 2014, “Innovative journey – 2014 New Energy Vehicle Miles†was officially launched in Shanghai. The activity was guided by the Ministry of Science and Technology, supported by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and led by SAIC, and received positive response and participation from many governments and science and technology departments. Representatives from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Shanghai Economic and Information Commission, Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Yunnan Science and Technology Department, Shanghai Jiading District Government, Tongji University, SAIC Group, and Air Liquide Launching Ceremony. Deputy Director Chen Jiachang of the High and New Technology Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology delivered a speech at the launching ceremony and announced that the new energy vehicle fleet will start.
Supported by the National 863 Program and 7 new energy vehicles independently developed and manufactured by SAIC, the models include the Roewe 750 fuel cell sedan, the Roewe E50 pure electric sedan and the Roewe 550PLUG-IN plug-in hybrid sedan, passing through 14 provinces across the country. The 25 cities in the municipal autonomous region plan to travel more than 10,000 kilometers, fully verifying the adaptability of new energy vehicles, especially fuel cell vehicles, in various natural environments such as climate, road conditions and altitude. At the same time, activities will be held in 15 cities. Demonstrate China's new energy vehicle development strategy and technical policy, so that the general public can get in touch with new energy vehicles and establish a green safety and environmental protection travel concept, so that all sectors of society can pay more attention to and support the development of China's new energy automobile industry.
