    The stacked piezoelectric actuator is a ceramic element that uses longitudinal piezoelectric effect to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy such as displacement dynamics, adopts a piezoelectric ceramic material with a high strain rate, and has a unique element structure design, and the shape is smaller and the shapes are different. It is versatile and has a wide range of shapes and applications. It covers a wide range of applications, including precise and precise positioning or driving sources. Based on their design, it is well suited for easy integration into specific customer systems. Their exterior surface is made of a flexible insulating material with two versions of grey resin and green resin.

    â–  Product installation

    Stacked piezoceramic driver products have extremely low resistance to tensile forces on the structure and, if tensile forces are applied, there is a high probability of failure (damage). If a compressive force is applied during use, mechanical damage can be effectively prevented. The pressure applied to the element should be 20 to 50% of the output force of the element as a reference value. When installing, keep the displacement axis of the component perpendicular to the mounting surface. To assist with the installation of piezoelectric ceramics, the ball-end or flat surface tungsten steel alloy can be selected for installation. PZT multilayer stack piezoceramics have no preload force. Do not apply external forces such as bending, twisting, or pulling to the product. The installation diagram is as follows:

    The product test condition is 0-150V . The preload is recommended for dynamic use : 15MPa The recommended maximum preload is: 30MPa for dynamic use. Operating temperature: -10~50°C. Recommended use environment: 25 ± 3 °C (at constant temperature), 20 ~45% relative humidity (non-condensing) Sports environment: 10 to 40 °C, 20 to 60% relative humidity (non-condensing) Storage environment: 0 to 40 °C, 10 to 40% relative humidity (non-condensing) Standard size wire is red One black and two color conductors, red and black, length L=100mm, diameter Φ0.75mm

    Piezoelectric ceramics are functional materials that can convert electrical energy into displacement. When the piezoelectric crystal is deformed under the action of an external force, a charge proportional to the external force can be generated on the surface of the crystal. This phenomenon of the polarization charge on the crystal surface due to the action of the mechanical force is called a positive piezoelectric effect. At the same time, when the piezoelectric crystal is placed in an external electric field, the crystal will be deformed due to the effect of the electric field, and the size of the deformation is proportional to the magnitude of the external electric field strength. This phenomenon of deformation of the piezoelectric crystal due to the action of the electric field, It is called inverse piezoelectric effect.

    ▌ Precautions

    Do not use the voltage range specified in the parameter table to drive the piezoelectric actuator.

    The environment in which the piezoelectric actuator is located should be kept dry. And should avoid long-term high DC electric field and high relative humidity environment.

    Do not disassemble the piezoelectric ceramic. (Warning: May cause electric shock!)

    Do not drop the ceramic and avoid any kind of mechanical impact.

    It is very important to short-circuit the piezoelectric actuator during operation. Changes in temperature and load will cause the piezoelectric actuator electrode to charge. If the lead is not shorted, high voltage electric field may be generated: that is, the actuator will charge and then discharge quickly, especially for actuators that are not pre-tensioned. It may be damaged directly. It is recommended to use a resistor to discharge.

    Piezoelectric actuators are piezoceramics with preload force that can withstand a certain amount of tension, but cannot withstand torsional, bending, or lateral forces. This force may directly damage the actuator and must be avoided. The lateral force can be removed by a flexible ball transfer or a suitable guide mechanism.

    ▌ hysteresis

    There is a displacement difference between the piezoelectric ceramic boost curve and the buck curve. At the same voltage value, the displacement value on the rising curve and the descending curve has a significant displacement difference, and this displacement difference will change with the change of voltage range, and the smaller the driving voltage is, the smaller the displacement difference will be. The hysteresis of piezoelectric ceramics is generally about 10%-15% of the corresponding displacement value of a given voltage.

    ▌ creep

    Creep refers to when the voltage value applied to the piezoelectric ceramic no longer changes, the displacement value is not stabilized at a fixed value, but changes slowly with time, and the stable value is reached after a certain time. The largest difference in the above figure is the creep value.

    ▌ temperature

    Operating temperature: -20 °C ~ +80 °C (depending on the resin) , the performance of the piezoelectric ceramic will drop significantly over 100 °C, and the piezoelectric ceramic will be permanently depolarized beyond the Curie temperature.

    ▌ response time

    Due to the high response frequency of piezoelectric ceramics, piezoelectric ceramics rapidly expand and contract with changes in the driving voltage. . The fastest response time for piezoelectric ceramics depends on the resonant frequency of the piezoelectric ceramic. Generally within 1/3 of the resonance time of the piezoelectric ceramic reaches the corresponding displacement.

    • Displacement ΔL0: This is the displacement produced by the piezoceramics. This value is measured under no-load conditions, ie it is not subject to any resistance during displacement of the piezoceramics. After applying voltage to the ceramic, the corresponding displacement was measured.

    ? Output Fmax: maximum output is generated in the piezoelectric ceramic, the piezoelectric ceramic is the displacement value is 0, the measured output, i.e., high rigidity against the thrust load.

    If the load is constant and the rated displacement can reach the rated voltage, the position of the contraction is used as a reference point.

    ▌ With variable load

    When the force is changed, the displacement of the piezoelectric ceramic will have a certain loss. The specific loss depends on the stiffness of the external mechanical spring.
