February 19, 2015: SKF was awarded ISO 50001 global certification by DenNorska Veritas (DNV). Currently, SKF's energy management system has been implemented in 38 manufacturing plants around the world. The energy consumption of these plants exceeds 90% of the group's total direct energy use.
Rob Jenkinson, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at SKF, said: “We are aware that we need to significantly improve our energy performance, which is beneficial from both the environmental and cost perspectives. The new ISO 50001 standard helps us organically. This goal is achieved in a systematic and continuous manner."
He added: "By mentioning the systems and tools that help improve environmental performance, we started using the ISO14001 environmental management standard in the 1990s and recently adopted the LEED standard for new buildings. At the same time, we are still at us. Of the energy-intensive suppliers promote the application of the ISO 50001 standard."
