Sweden launches self-driving electric truck without cab design


Driverless cars are no longer unfamiliar to the public. Both traditional car manufacturers and technology companies have been actively involved in this field in recent years, and they have also started testing vehicles. According to the US media Motor 1 July 6, a Swedish company recently launched a distinctive self-driving electric wagon that has a unique shape and can even be remotely controlled.

It is reported that Sweden's Einride company is actively developing an unmanned "loading truck." The model has no windows and no window, completely abandon the cab, designed not to carry passengers, but the shipment of goods.
The model is a fully automated electric truck that is 23 feet (7 meters) long and carries a cargo volume of 20 tons. When fully charged, the cruising range reaches 124 miles (200 km). But in fact, this model is not completely automated and still requires manual control. Using hybrid systems and remote sensing technology, manual control of electric trucks can be achieved. At the same time, labor can also adjust the operation of trucks by remote sensing to prevent accidents.
Nowadays, the truck has not yet completed the implantation of remote sensing technology, and its cruising range is limited. Einride immediately said that the company will launch a full-featured electric truck this fall and plans to produce 200 vehicles by 2020.
At the same time, automated trucks have left us with new challenges. It is true that automating automobiles makes life easier, and we can enjoy the benefits of technological innovations as much as we can; but we also need to consider two questions: Is the automation process too fast? Do we need to introduce automated trucks? In today's immature automation technology, perhaps we still miss the process of manual control.
