According to the latest data analysis conducted by the China Investment Consulting Machinery Industry Research Department, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd. had a total engine output of 508,500 units in 2008, an increase of 0.32% year-on-year; total sales reached 550,100 units, a year-on-year increase of 9.13%. This is already the group’s production and sales volume becoming the national champion for eight consecutive years.
In 2007, various operating indicators of Yuchai Group increased rapidly, engine production and sales exceeded 500,000 units, and sales revenue reached 18.35 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29%.
In 2008, despite the cold spells of the international financial crisis, Yuchai Group went further, with a perfect ending of 20.988 billion yuan in business performance, and sales revenue exceeded the 20 billion yuan mark for the first time. It is worth mentioning that in 2008, the Yuchai Group’s engine has won bids for more than 2,000 orders in three batches of Beijing Bus IV vehicles, providing green power for Beijing traffic during the Olympic Games.
With the recent pick-up in the domestic construction machinery industry, Yuchai's engine production orders have soared. The latest data show that in February Yuchai’s production orders were as high as 50,000 units, the highest number of historical orders in February.
