Here's an update from Scott Peterson:
A vehicle collided with a power pole on Rand Road, just west of Arlington Heights Road. Fortunately, there was no entrapment involved. The driver stayed inside the vehicle until Com-Ed technicians arrived and shut down the power. This particular pole had a transformer attached to it. Com-Ed reached the scene within 20 minutes of the fire department's arrival. Once they gave the all-clear, Arlington Heights Fire Department crews safely extracted the driver and transported them to Northwest Community Hospital.Eng 4, Amb 4, Sqd 2, and Batt 1 were on scene.

The incident appears to have been handled efficiently, with quick response from both emergency services and utility crews. The driver is reported to be in stable condition.
