A vehicle struck a power pole on Rand Road, just west of Arlington Heights Road. There was no one trapped in the vehicle. The driver stayed inside until Com-Ed arrived and shut off the power. This particular pole had a transformer attached to it. Com-Ed reached the scene within 20 minutes of the fire department’s arrival. Once they confirmed it was safe, Arlington Heights Fire Department crews removed the driver and transported them to Northwest Community Hospital.Eng 4, Amb 4, Squad 2, and Battalion 1 were on scene.

The incident occurred around late evening, and emergency crews worked quickly to secure the area. It appears the driver was not seriously injured, but as a precaution, they were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
