Egypt takes 20 measures to save spinning woven units

Egypt has taken nearly 20 measures to protect the domestic textile industry, including spinning and weaving units and garment manufacturing units.

Egyptian Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Essa said that these measures not only protect the industry from unfair competition from some countries, but also support their development.

In the past, Egypt’s textile industry faced several problems that led to the closure of the factory. The purpose of the latest decision was to save the textile industry and protect the rights of workers.

According to these new measures, protection fees for woven and spinning products and garments imported from Egypt are imposed, and tariffs are also imposed on imported textiles.

These measures will help the domestic textile industry out of the current crisis.

These measures were decided by a 32-member committee that includes representatives from various stakeholders, including spinning and weaving holding companies, consumer protection bureaus, foreign trade ministries, the Ministry of Finance, and others.
