The first fully automated heavy-duty stamping production line is put into use


    ABB recently announced that the company's key support for the construction of China's first large-scale robot automated stamping production line in the entire Jinan debugging success, and officially put into use. Its commissioning marks a major technological leap in the production of heavy trucks in China, and the overall vehicle manufacturing level has been fully improved.

    This automated stamping line uses seven ABB press-specific robots and applies the latest software technologies, such as ABB's advanced press centering system and full-line monitoring system, for the first time in the country. This upgrades manual manual operations in the existing truck production to full-line automation. Production has greatly increased production efficiency and quality stability, and reduced the rate of defective products. This production line will be mainly used to produce a new generation of self-developed heavy-duty vehicle HOWO-A7 with advanced technology and high quality in China. As the main model of China National Heavy Duty Truck in 2009, HOWO-A7 will also export to the international market.

    Gan Linru, head of the Robotics Department of ABB (China) Co., Ltd., said: "This production line is the first application of ABB's many world-leading robotics production lines, effectively improving China National Heavy Duty Truck's manufacturing level and production efficiency, and consolidating its new The leading position of a generation of trucks in the market. The cooperation with Sinotruk is another breakthrough for ABB robotics business in China's auto industry, which indicates that the application of stamping automation technology in China has extended from the car manufacturing field to the heavy truck manufacturing field.”

    Yan Wenjun, general manager of China National Heavy Duty Truck Co., Ltd., said: “The automated stamping production line with ABB's advanced technology will be completed and put into production, which will ensure a breakthrough in the quality of the HOWO-A7 heavy-duty trucks' large-scale panel production. Manufacturing equipment defines a new benchmark for the heavy-duty truck manufacturing industry and will drive Sinotruck into the international fast lane of the heavy-duty truck manufacturing industry.” This stamping automation production line employs ABB's latest technologies, regardless of the complexity of the system.
