Vacant house fire in Prospect Heights, 11-9-15

This just came in from Larry Shapiro: Firefighters from Prospect Heights were dispatched to 702 S Elmhurst Road late Monday evening (November 9th, 2015) due to a fire reported in an abandoned house. Interestingly enough, this was the same building they had used for training earlier that very afternoon. The police initially reported heavy smoke and flames in the attic when they called it in. Upon receiving the call, emergency units from Wheeling, Long Grove, and Arlington Heights rushed to the scene on what's known as a Code 3 alarm, which essentially means lights and sirens blazing. Thanks to their swift response, the fire was brought under control within half an hour, and luckily, it never breached the roof. I’ve got some photos and even a video from the scene here. Unfortunately, the video link seems to be broken right now, but I’ll make sure to update it as soon as it’s working again. It’s incredible how quickly these professionals were able to contain the situation, and it really highlights the importance of preparedness and quick action in situations like these. Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like me to add or clarify!
