High quality requirements for piston rings in auto parts

    In the automotive and internal combustion Engine Parts industry, piston rings are a large quantity and high quality parts. The types of piston ring waste include slag inclusions, pores, and sand inclusions. Such defects are related to many factors such as smelting, modeling materials, and processes. Whether the design of the gating system is reasonable or not involves the slag blocking effect, whether it is inhaling, gas circling, etc. According to the specific conditions of the production plant, we first analyzed the gating system and the casting process of the piston ring, and determined the method of water simulation to carry out the experiment.

    The design of the gating system is closely related to the filling speed, and the speed of the filling speed influences the occurrence of sand filling, splashing, oxidation, etc., determines the good and bad slag blocking effect, and determines whether there is sand in the casting. Because of defects such as porosity and cold septa, a properly designed gating system has become the key to reducing casting waste and improving the quality of castings. Although computer simulations are used in a lot of ways, the water-simulating method makes it easier to observe the pouring process. It can be observed: (1) the gating system begins to fill the mold; (2) the pressure of each part of the gating system; (3) the gating system's suction and gas circumstance; (4) the slag blocking effect of the gating system; 5) The distribution of inclusions and pores in the cavity; (6) The filling process is stable.

    In order for the experimental results to be used for production, it is necessary to ensure that the flow of fluid in the model is similar to the flow of liquid in the prototype, that is, the following conditions are satisfied: (1) similar flow media; (2) similar geometrical outline dimensions; (3) fluid physical properties Similar; (4) Similar initial conditions; (5) Similar qualitative criteria.

    The cylinder liner is a part of the engine. It has good heat dissipation, uniform cooling and easy processing. Usually, only the inner surface needs to be finished, and the outer surface in contact with water does not need to be processed, and the disassembly and assembly is convenient, but the disadvantage is that the strength and rigidity are not as good. Dry cylinder liners are good, and water leakage is easy to occur. Some leak prevention measures should be taken.
