Rolls-Royce receives an order from PaxOcean

    Recently, global power system company Rolls-Royce announced that it has received an order from PaxOcean Marine Engineering Company of Singapore to provide ship design and propulsion equipment for its two platform supply vessels. The two platform supply vessels will be built at PaxOcean Engineering's shipyard in Zhuhai, China.

    The contract includes ship design, fully integrated Rolls-Royce diesel-electric propulsion system, deck machinery and automation systems, with an order value of approximately £10 million.
    The two platform supply vessels have a total length of 78.7 meters, a width of 16 meters and a deck cargo area of ​​670 square meters. They will be built in accordance with clean design standards and will be equipped with fire and oil recovery devices, which are scheduled to be delivered in the first half of 2013. use.

    The design of the Rolls-Royce UT 755 CD is based on the popular UT 755 series of vessels designed to supply equipment to oil and gas rigs. Since the first UT 755 ship was delivered in 1996, more than 170 ships using this design have been put into use or ordered. The outstanding features of the new UT 755 are the use of more efficient hull design, diesel electric propulsion technology and design solutions that minimize environmental impact and maximize crew comfort and safety.
