UASC will transform super-large container ship dual fuel power

Recently, the Arab United Nations Ship (UASC) officially announced that it will transform its ultra-large container ship (14,000 – 18,000 TEU) to have the ability to use dual fuel. These vessels, including 5+6 14,000 TEU container ships and 5+1 18,000 TEU container ships, are currently under construction at Hyundai Heavy Industries. Through technical cooperation with JMU and IHI, Hyundai Heavy Industries hopes to obtain DNV-GL (UASC Designated Classification Society) for the concept recognition (AiP) of LNG Fuel Gas Supply System (FGSS) and LNG fuel storage tanks. This is also the first time that the dual fuel system is applied to the container ship of the Asia-Europe line, and it will also be an important "touchstone" for testing the feasibility of LNG fuel on the ocean trade route.
