Choosing The Right Heater And Mounting Option For Any Outdoor Location

**Choosing the Right Heater and Mounting Option for Any Outdoor Location** Posted: October 25, 2018 at 02:42 PM | 7 minute read **Heaters** There’s a heater out there for every situation and every person! While each type of heater has its own advantages, **the right one for you will depend on your specific needs, location, and how you plan to use it.** With so many sizes and styles available, you might even find yourself wanting more than one kind of outdoor heater. Here are some key differences between the various options to help you make an informed choice. **Heater Mounting Options** Outdoor heaters come in a variety of mounting styles—portable, fixed, or wall/ceiling mounted. Some models are designed to be slim and unobtrusive. Once installed, mounted heaters are typically not considered portable. Wall-mounted heaters are great for small spaces, such as a covered patio or deck. Floor-mounted heaters are commonly used around pools, while pole-mounted heaters are perfect for walkways or large open areas. The wide range of options makes it easy to find the ideal heater for your space. **Mounted Outdoor Heaters** Most mounted heaters run on natural gas or electricity and are best suited for areas with limited floor space. Some can be safely used in enclosed or covered areas, and others can be installed flush with walls or ceilings to blend seamlessly into your decor. **If you have a nearby wall or ceiling, installing a mounted heater is a smart choice for consistent and efficient heating in your outdoor space.** **Portable Outdoor Heaters** Portable heaters usually run on propane and come in a variety of sizes. They are quick to set up and provide immediate warmth to an outdoor area. However, they should never be used indoors due to safety concerns. **These heaters are perfect for places where permanent installation isn’t practical but you still want access to heat.** Plus, their portability gives them a major advantage over other types of heaters. **Patio Heater Fuel Source** The majority of outdoor heaters are powered by propane, natural gas, or electricity. Your choice will likely depend on what type of heater suits your needs best. **All three fuel sources are affordable, eco-friendly, and use infrared technology to keep people warm safely.** This makes them a reliable option for both residential and commercial use. **The Zone – Effective Heating Radius** ![Placing your patio heater properly](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/42d2a9d69d47d180765d753e3584b2b9.png) When choosing a heater, consider how you’ll use the space. A small, enclosed area may limit your options, just as a large open space might rule out certain types of heaters. **Each heater has an effective heating zone, and knowing this will help you decide how many heaters you need and where to place them for optimal coverage.** **Efficient & Durable Patio Heaters** **Infratech Outdoor Heaters** Infratech electric infrared heaters are a green and quiet option, available in slim, single, and double-element models. They offer different output levels and are designed to fit naturally into your outdoor décor. These heaters are energy-efficient and operate without noise. **Sunglo Exterior Heaters** Sunglo portable propane heaters are perfect for those who value flexibility. Made in the USA, they are popular among hotels, restaurants, and homeowners worldwide. Their portability and durability make them a top choice for temporary or mobile heating solutions. **Sunpak Patio Heaters** Sunpak overhead heaters are known for their quality and long-lasting performance. They work with both natural gas and propane and are available in various BTU models. For example, the 25,000 BTU model heats up to a 10 x 10 ft area, while the 34,000 BTU model covers up to 12 x 12 ft. **Choose the Finish for Your Heater** You don’t have to sacrifice style for function when it comes to outdoor heaters. Many options are available in finishes like stainless steel, bronze, and flush-mounted designs. Floor-standing models can also add a stylish touch to any outdoor space. For instance, the Sunglo A242 Natural Gas Model is available in black or stainless steel and offers the convenience of natural gas with the flexibility of a portable unit. No matter the size or layout of your outdoor space, there’s a heater that fits your needs perfectly. From overhead models to portable units, you can find the right solution to keep your patio comfortable all season long. Features like heater switches and easy controls make using your new heater simple and convenient. --- **Share this post:** Tweet [Facebook Like Button](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/4bf8fc56a4d3e7f41504174f2ed17e2b.com/news/choosing-the-right-heater-and-mounting-option-for-any-outdoor-location&layout=button_count&show_faces=false&action=like) **Go Back To Blog** **Have Questions? PC Extrusion Profile

HONYPRO®Polycarbonate has many good qualities like those of the metal, glass, and plastics united in it. The material is extremely impact resistant, stiff, transparent, and can handle hot and cold environments. Polycarbonate profiles are dimensionally stable. Polycarbonate profiles are used where a high impact resistant profile needs to be combined with light transmission. The applications vary from automotive, aircraft, lighting, and electronic industry. Polycarbonate is sensitive to the infusion of plasticizers and oil from Soft PVC and some rubbers. Keep this in mind when it is used as a seal or sealant; for this purpose, plasticizer-free flexible plastics are available.

    PC profiles

    Chemical resistance of polycarbonate profiles

Polycarbonate is resistant to diluted mineral acids, aliphatic hydrocarbon, gasoline, grease, and alcohol. It is not resistant to alkalis, ammonia, aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, and ozone. Polycarbonate is sensitive to various chemicals that can induce environmental stress embrittlement.

    Characteristics
    • Maximum tolerable temperature approximately 120⁰ C (248⁰ F).
    • Extremely impact resistant
    • Flammable can be modified to self-extinguishing
    • Good weatherproof
    • Fairly high E-module
    • Very transparent

    Applications polycarbonate profiles

Polycarbonate profiles are frequently used in:

    • Lighting industry
    • Advertising and display construction
    • Automotive industry
    • Aircraft industry
    • Swimming pool covers
    • Cable systems

    Material qualities polycarbonate profiles

Polycarbonate is extremely impact resistant, relatively scratch proof, and features a high gloss surface. The material is considered one of the high-quality plastics. Polycarbonate is also highly resistant to high temperatures. Its maximum tolerable temperature is 130⁰ C (266⁰ F). the impact resistance remains good at low temperatures. Polycarbonate gets frail around -190⁰ C (-310⁰ F). yet another advantage is the relatively low expansion coefficient of polycarbonate. According to the BGA and FDA guidelines, some polycarbonate products are approved for the food industry. Among other products, baby bottles are made from polycarbonate.

    PC profiles

    Polycarbonate colored profiles

By utilizing special pigments, the colorfastness is excellent. Polycarbonate is crystal clear and thus can be transparently colored. When the material experiences prolonged exposure to outdoor environments, the surface will turn yellowish while the impact resistance diminishes. By using UV- stabilizers and coatings, the outdoor life span can significantly improve.

    Bonding with other materials

PC profiles is suitable to bond with other thermoplastics like co-, tri-, and quad extrusion. Next to bonding with natural PC, like with a different color, it also bonds well with ABS, ASA, and TPU

    Welding polycarbonate profiles

Welding is best done with a heat source, like hot air or mirror welding at temperatures of 400⁰ C (752⁰ F). before welding, the material must be dried and made tension-free by heating it at a high temperature.
