LAS VEGAS, Nov. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Autodesk University (AU), the annual user conference of Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK), kicked off today, bringing together over 12,000 professionals from construction, architecture, engineering, manufacturing, and media creation across four days of immersive learning, networking, and innovation. The event aims to equip attendees with the tools and knowledge needed to shape a more sustainable and efficient future in design and production.
The conference opened with a keynote from Autodesk President and CEO Andrew Anagnost, who emphasized the company’s ongoing mission to empower industries with technology that enables more with less—reducing environmental impact while maximizing productivity. This year’s theme, "Better," reflects the growing opportunity for improved workflows, outcomes, and global impact as industries evolve. Anagnost was joined by guest speakers such as Dr. Elizabeth Hausler, founder and CEO of Build Change, and Asa Kalama, executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering.

Two additional keynotes focused on advancements in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, and the Design and Manufacturing sector. These sessions highlighted cutting-edge technologies and how different fields are converging to foster cross-industry innovation.
Beyond the main stage, attendees had the chance to explore the AU Las Vegas Expo, where they could experience hands-on demonstrations of groundbreaking tools. Highlights included an AI-designed mass-produced chair, the world's largest AR-enhanced hybrid manufacturing machine, and digital innovations in sustainable water infrastructure. There was also a space dedicated to a high-performance basketball and entertainment center built with community in mind.
Another major announcement was the launch of the Autodesk Group Network, a new initiative designed to connect and support users globally. With over 80 existing groups and leaders, the network aims to amplify collaboration, innovation, and performance across industries.
Autodesk also announced Build Change as the recipient of the AU Las Vegas 2019 Donation Drive. Since 2014, the Autodesk Foundation has supported Build Change by providing software, training, and resources to help build disaster-resilient homes and schools. Autodesk plans to contribute 1% of its operating margin to the foundation to further support such initiatives.
For the fifth consecutive year, AU Las Vegas 2019 was a carbon-neutral event. This commitment reflects Autodesk’s broader goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2020 through investments in efficiency, renewables, and carbon offset projects.
