This just came in from Josh Boyajian regarding an incident that occurred today (October 26, 2015) at Morton East High School in Cicero, specifically on the 2400 block of Austin Avenue. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene after reports of smoke coming from the upper floors of the building. Initial responders found signs of smoke on the third and fourth levels upon arrival.
As crews conducted a thorough and careful search, they eventually located the source of the fire—a motor concealed behind a wall on one of the upper floors. Thanks to the swift actions of the firefighters, the blaze was successfully confined to this specific area and did not spread further throughout the structure. Their efforts ensured that the situation remained contained and prevented any potential escalation.
