I just witnessed something incredible happen at 4225 N Knox. A worker was up on this massive water tower when he suddenly had some kind of medical issue and couldn't get down on his own. The Chicago Fire Department responded quickly with their technical rescue team.
When I arrived, TL 23 had already managed to position their elevated platform near the base of the tank. They were using the tower bucket to transport both personnel and equipment up to where the worker was stuck. Once they reached him, the firefighters set up an anchor point and used safety harnesses to help guide him down the gooseneck ladder from the top of the tank to the walkway below.
It was impressive how smoothly everything went. From what I could tell, the worker was actually able to do most of the climbing down himself with the firefighters providing guidance and support along the way. It really showed how well-trained and prepared these firefighters are for situations like this.
I took some photos that capture different angles of the rescue operation. You can check them out [here]. Seeing this firsthand reminded me just how important our first responders are in moments like these. Big thanks to everyone involved for handling it so professionally!

This is definitely one of those times when you realize how crucial it is to have skilled professionals ready to step in during emergencies. The entire process looked both safe and efficient, which is exactly what we need in situations like these.
