This morning (July 15, 2015), Northbrook-based fire departments were called to respond to a report of heavy smoke coming from the roof of a commercial building located at 1840 Raymond Drive. The structure in question is a single-story building with dimensions of 100 feet by 200 feet. As the situation unfolded, the initial alarm was escalated to a higher level, known locally as a "Box Alarm." Firefighters quickly deployed three water lines to combat the blaze, which had managed to spread through the building's ductwork. Despite their efforts, the fire caused significant damage that necessitated an extensive overhaul process.
Attached are several images taken by Tim Olk, capturing different perspectives of the incident. The first image shows Northbrook firefighters actively engaged in extinguishing the flames at the scene. In another shot, thick plumes of smoke billow from the roof of the commercial property, highlighting the intensity of the situation. A third photograph provides a closer view of the firefighters as they work diligently to contain the fire.
These photos serve as a reminder of the critical role emergency services play in our community, especially during challenging situations like this fire. It’s always inspiring to see how quickly professionals mobilize to protect lives and property. I hope everyone remains safe and vigilant as we continue to support those who keep us secure.
