This morning (July 15, 2015), Northbrook fire crews were dispatched to 1840 Raymond Drive in response to reports of heavy smoke billowing from the roof of a one-story commercial building measuring approximately 100 by 200 feet. As the situation escalated, the initial alarm was upgraded to a Box Alarm, signaling the need for additional resources. Firefighters deployed three lines to combat the blaze, which had spread through the building’s ventilation system, making the overhaul process particularly challenging.
The fire appeared to have originated near the roof area, causing significant smoke damage that required thorough examination and cleanup afterward. Despite the intensity of the smoke, firefighters worked efficiently to contain the situation, ensuring that the surrounding structures remained safe from potential threats.
Attached are photos taken by Tim Olk, capturing the efforts of Northbrook firefighters as they tackled the flames. The images vividly depict the intense smoke rising from the commercial building and the focused determination of the emergency responders on the scene. It's always reassuring to see how quickly and effectively local teams handle such situations, minimizing risks to both property and people.
