Mundelein Fire Department updates

Hi everyone, This message comes from Mark Gaunky. Here’s what he had to share: --- We recently received a couple of pictures of our brand-new engine. Unfortunately, it didn’t arrive in November as we had hoped, but things are progressing well. From the looks of these photos, the build is almost complete, and we’re optimistic that it will be ready for us in December. Regarding the tower ladder we purchased, it’s still not officially in service just yet. We’re wrapping up the final stages of training on it. However, it has already been called into action a few times during driver training sessions. All the equipment has been installed, but there are a couple of things left to finish. For instance, we’re waiting for new signage to be installed on the sides of the ladder, and we’re also upgrading the emergency lighting both in the basket and at the rear of the vehicle. I’ve also attached a photo from a structure fire we had last month. This fire originated in the fireplace area, and you can see what the first responding units encountered when they arrived on scene. [Attached Image: "fire engine being built" - Mundelein Fire Department photo] The new engine currently being built by KME for the Mundelein Fire Department is really coming along nicely. It’s shaping up to be an impressive addition to our fleet. As you can see, it was quite a significant incident, and it highlights the importance of regular maintenance for chimneys and fireplaces.
