Here are a few updates from the department. Our new engine didn’t arrive in November as we had hoped, but based on the photos we’ve seen, it’s looking really close to being finished. We’re expecting it sometime in December, and we’re excited about getting it into service.
We also recently purchased a new tower ladder, which isn’t fully operational yet. We’re still wrapping up the training for our crew, but the equipment is all installed. It has already responded to a couple of calls during driver training exercises. The only things left are the new signage for the side of the ladder and an upgrade to the emergency lighting on the basket and rear of the truck. We’re working through those details now.
Lastly, I wanted to share a photo from a structure fire that happened last month. The fire started in the fireplace area, and this is what first responders found upon arrival. It’s a good reminder of how quickly things can escalate, and it shows the importance of early detection and quick response.
