It's been more than a year since the global spread of COVID-19 disrupted our daily lives, shaking the foundation of how we live, work, and connect. At Autodesk, we've navigated this challenging period with determination, innovation, and a deep commitment to our people, customers, and communities.
Throughout this time, we've adapted quickly, embraced digital transformation, and supported our teams in ways that have made a real difference. From enabling remote learning and offering flexible customer solutions to creating safer work environments, we've done everything we can to ensure continuity and well-being. We're proud of the progress we've made and the resilience we've shown as we continue to support our global network through these uncertain times.
While the pandemic is not yet behind us, we remain hopeful. The global vaccination efforts are giving us a glimpse of a brighter future, and we’re excited about what that means for recovery and connection. As we move forward, it’s clear that the world will look different—and we want to be part of shaping that future, especially when it comes to how we work.
That’s why we introduced Autodesk’s Flexible Workplace model—a new approach designed to empower our employees, support our business, and keep health and safety at the forefront. This model reflects our belief that flexibility is key to thriving in today’s evolving landscape.
Under the Flexible Workplace model, employees will fall into one of three categories:
- **Office-Based** employees will primarily work from an Autodesk office, with the option to work remotely up to 20% of the time. Some roles, like front desk or security positions, will require daily in-office presence.
- **Hybrid** employees will split their time between home and local Autodesk offices, with access to shared workspaces on a day-use basis. Most of our global team will be in this category.
- **Home-Based** employees will work primarily from home, typically because they don’t live near an Autodesk office.
We’ll implement this model globally, following local guidelines, health metrics, and vaccination progress. Offices in Asia Pacific have already started reopening, and we plan to follow suit in the U.S. and other regions this summer. Each re-opening will be phased to ensure a safe and smooth transition for everyone returning.
Beyond the details, our goal with this model is to create a more inclusive, flexible, and supportive environment for all. We want to maintain our strong culture while embracing the best of both digital and in-person collaboration. Most importantly, we remain focused on the health and well-being of our global community.
The past year has reminded us of the power of adaptability and teamwork. While we can’t predict what lies ahead, we believe this people-first approach will help everyone find balance, grow, and achieve more—both personally and professionally. At Autodesk, we're committed to building a future that works for all.
