Wheaton Fire Department ceremony

Hey there, Just got back from an amazing event at the Wheaton Fire Department last Thursday, May 28, 2015. I had the honor of attending their Swearing-In and Promotion Ceremony, and it was truly inspiring to see everyone come together for such a special occasion. First up, we welcomed two new firefighters into the team: - **Nick Mellinger** - **Matt Ackerman** Both of these guys have been through rigorous training and are now officially part of the Wheaton Fire Department. Huge congrats to them for taking this next step in their careers! Next, we celebrated promotions within the department. These individuals have shown exceptional leadership skills and dedication, and their hard work has paid off: - **Chris Hunecke** has been promoted to Lieutenant. He’s been a key player for years, and his promotion is well-deserved. - **Mike Byas** is also moving up to Lieutenant. His calm demeanor under pressure makes him a natural leader. - **Mike Franzone** joins the ranks of Lieutenant. He’s always been someone who leads by example, and his promotion reflects that. And finally, the biggest promotions of the day went to: - **Jeff MacKay**, who is now an Assistant Chief. His strategic thinking and ability to manage complex situations have been invaluable to the department. - **Pete Vassios**, also stepping up to Assistant Chief. Pete’s experience and knowledge make him a fantastic addition to the leadership team. It was a proud moment for everyone involved, and I couldn’t help but snap some photos to capture the excitement. Here are a few shots from the day: ![Fire department officers](#) Caption: A group shot of the newly promoted officers. All in all, it was a fantastic day filled with pride, camaraderie, and celebration. Congrats once again to everyone who was recognized. You’ve made Wheaton Fire Department even stronger, and your contributions won’t be forgotten anytime soon. Take care, John Tulipano
