Jeff Rudolph captured the scene of a fire this morning in Winthrop Harbor, which is part of MABAS Division 4. He shared the following report and images:
Winthrop Harbor responded to a box alarm around 0800 hours for a fire at 11905 12th Street. The fire was reported on the roof of a one-and-a-half story home, believed to have been caused by lightning. Zion Quint 1832 was the first unit on scene and immediately began the fire attack. Winthrop Harbor Engine 1711 laid a supply line to support the operation. Auto aid units from Newport, Beach Park, and Zion also arrived at the scene. The incident was quickly controlled, and most units returned to their stations, except for North Chicago and Pleasant Prairie, WI.
